Check Out My Fishing Photos!

Fishing Aransas Bay, Redfish Bay, Corpus Christi Bay, the flats, reefs and other hot spots close to Port Aransas and St. Joe Island, Ransom Island and Traylor Island our of Rockport, Texas.

November 15, 2014

Texas Parks and Wildlife did a good job opening up Cedar Bayou!  It's flowing in and out very well. It will be interesting to see how the bays respond to the extra water flow. October was a good month with most nights bringing-in 14-17 flounder with sheepshead and drum as an
added bonus. With bay temperatures dropping down to 70 degrees and here lately into the 60s, the flounder should be egging-up and ready to migrate out to the gulf. Their will be sheepshead and drum schooling and moving out as well.  This year they changed the December possession during 1st through 15th to 2 flounder per person then on the 15th it goes back to 5 flounder per person. If you are interested in the 1st through the 15th.  Call for details 361-463-3217. Well that's it see you next month.

About Your Captain - Joe Clouse:

Capt. Joe has 25 years experience on the water. Being a native Texan and born in Corpus Christi, he knows the waterways like the back of his hand. He fished as a boy with his brother almost every day after school and his love for fishing became a life-long affair.  He fished commercially for many years, but soon turned his attention toward flounder gigging.  He's also a member of the Coastal Bend Guides Association.

Safety is his # 1 priority, so expect an exceptional and safe trip on the water!

What Capt. Joe Supplies:

Captain supplies the bait, a big ice chest for all the fish you'll catch, plus another ice chest for your favorite snacks and drinks. Alcoholic beverages should be limited for safety concerns. Captain supplies all equipment for gigging flounder, or you may bring your own.  Please let the captain know if so.  He'll also clean and bag your fish for your trip home.

What You'll Need to Bring:

Favorite snacks and sodas, a jacket as Texas weather can change quickly.  Wear solid shoes and bring a camera to capture the memories!

State law requires that you have a valid fishing license with a saltwater stamp.  You must have this license before boarding the boat - available at Wal-Mart, HEB and local tackle shops.  Click the logo to learn more.

Specifics About Your Trip:

You'll meet the captain at Conn Brown Harbor in Aransas Pass, Texas.
